Today I got a Sawtooth Tele copy (from Walmart) for $55, and an 80’s Squier Bullet from Goodwill for $60.
I bought the Bullet, cause I love the necks on these. This will be the 3rd “E7” Bullet I’ve bought for the neck. They have the same square heel as a Tele, but I’ve never been a fan of the standard Tele headstock, and these (obviously) have a Strat-style stock. The nut width is good, the profile is comfortable, and it has big(ish) frets. So for less than the cost of an Allparts-type neck, I have a whole guitar’s worth of parts. On this particular one, somebody put Fender stamped bridge saddles, a brass input jack plate and I suspect changed the bridge pup for something hotter, cause when I plugged it in to see if it worked, it sounded great! It’s from a goodwill in California, and covered in hardcore stickers, so I played some Pennywise and Bad Religion on it before trying to clean it up.

It’s cleaning up real nice, and I actually like the neck on the other guitar, so I miiiight just see if I can get it as nice as I can. Who knows...
I actually have a thread going on the other guitar, so I’ll leave it at “WAY too nice to cost what it does”.

Sounds like a good day. Nothing better than a good sounding guitar for less than a bill.

It seems to balance just fine. It’s lighter than my MIM, but not as toy-like as a Palouwina body I once had.
