I got this Gibson Les Paul Custom Lite today. It has the thickness of a Les Paul Jr but the finishing touches of a Custom. It reminds me a lot of a PRS single cut. It has the 490/498T set which I absolutely love. I need to dial in the setup a bit more for me and give it a rip tonight. I love the Rhoades vibe the guitar has. I will post some more pictures later.

I was looking at the M2 Gibson on Amazon
Which is a similar small bodied Les Paul

Does it get the same growl and feel of a Gibson
Or does it feel more Epi

Diego posted that they felt cheap and toyish

I haven't plugged it in yet. It just got delivered. It was a surprise gift, so I didn't sit in a store and try it out. Just tooling on it in the office it feels great. The action is sweet as is the neck. The more I screw around with it I am getting a SG meets Les Paul vibe with it. Even the neck joint looks very SG like. I have the 490/498T set in my SG and would never think of replacing the set. Seeing this is similar body size and wood I am hoping to get a similar tone.

It's both "Ewwww, classy looking" and "Ooooo, classy looking", I like it! Works if you're wearing a Tux or maybe better if you're a crust punk. Plus on stage it'll be whatever color you hit it with. Nice score.

That is funny because some would describe my band as crust punk. I just call us a rock band.

It looks a lot like the LP Custom Lite, but with four knobs and no belly cut. I like.

Am curious whether it sounds somewhat SG-like, or if it has some LP chunk in the low end...

I am so sorry it is the Custom Lite. The packing slip said LE and that carried over in my head. There is a belly cut on it. I play Pauls and an SG so I am fairly sure I will be happy with the tone, it has my favorite Gibson pickups in it. Like I said it was a present so....

I only have a couple of hours playing it, but I would say it is tonally a Les Paul. Maybe the maple top vs. all mahogany on the SG is leaning it more towards the LP end of the spectrum. I don't know and don't care. There is a very aggressive vibe to this guitar I think it is the body size. It is as if you are playing an SG, but it is really barking. Bottomline is, it sounds great and is fun to play.

I've always wanted to try out a Custom Lite.
