Picked up a Leslie 18

I love how the Leslie ramps up the speed (or down) when you click the switch. Almost brings tear to my eyes.

And it is something that most simulators can't replicate well.

thats one of the reasons i really like the h&k rotosphere, the ramp time is really nice. the break control is also sweet

That would be cool if it were much smaller.

yeah, its not small for sure. i dont keep it on a board any more because of that. it has its own little bag with a 18" cable and power supply

Ok, I finally got this thing up and running and it's pretty fun. Need to play it through some pedals to see how weird it can get but so far so good. It really fills up the room with the wobbly sound that a pedal can't do.

Is there something that requires it to actually be that size, like something mechanical?

not really? though its got three switches so it could only be a little smaller without my big clumsy feet clicking something i dont want. especially on a gig, i want a little extra space so i dont have to watch what im doing while singing and playing

So I guess they never reissued it in a more pedalboard-friendly enclosure?

Sounds like it is time for a reissue, or some clones to come out.
