Question for the guys from Detroit about Dave Richards:

Dave was a good friend of mine who used to work at Anderson's Music in the Detroit/Dearborn area. In the mid 70's he opened up his own shop called Dave's Guitars where I bought my '63 Strat just before leaving Detroit for good. I don't think he's the same Dave that has the more famous Dave's Guitars.

Does anyone know if Dave Richards is still around or know anything about him?

I also wonder if any of you guys from Detroit know the whereabouts of another guitar player friend of mine named Terry Gatrell. Red haired fella though I wouldn't be surprised if he's wearing a hat most of the time these days! :smack: :laugh2: I haven't heard from Terry in about 30 years but he crosses my mind now and then.

We did alot of playing together in the 60's and 70's...

Wow, small world. I knew Dave back in my bass playing days! "Richards Guitar's" in Livonia Michigan, right? I use to be in a band with a guy named Denny that worked at Daves shop. The last I've ever heard about Dave was about 3 or 4 years ago. While at work I was flipping thru a local paper and remember seeing an add about a new store that Dave was opening. If I'm remembering right his store was either in Northville or Novi. That was the last I've ever heard about Dave. Good guy.

i know terry. he's with a band called taste. he's also on AIM. think its TheMusicOfTaste. plays a digitech 2101 thru an egnater modified, 6550 power tube marshall, might even be a plexi. its ugly, too. no tolex. want i to get ahold of him for ya?

Thanks Germ! Ugly old Marshall huh? That sounds like Terry. When we played together 30 years ago he was playing through an ugly Vox AC-50! What is AIM...is that a record label? Can you PM me? Thanks again, Lew
