The way to get variety with a single pickup guitar is move your right hand to different spots from the neck to the bridge to change to tone. You can effectively get near-neck tones if you move your right hand.

It's hard for me to think about playing anything but a P-90 these days.

Right? This is my 5th P-90 equipped guitar (and yes, I’m counting my P-Rails). I finally got to try a set of GFS Mean 90s on my last build and that guitar has become one of my all-time favorites!

I totally LOVE Mean 90s. They are a great pup to convert any muddy lifeless bucker to a nice full sounding P-90. For a little brighter P-90 sound, the GFS Dream 90 is also a great P-90 in a humbucker format.
