Take your basic Blackface amp, normal channel, vibrato channel. I them at different volumes with an A/B switch in order to give myself a lead boost using the normal channel. Each channel has it's own volume control.

So it's just simpler from the stand point of building it by using the A/B switch (versus a setup on the channel switcher like my Hot Rod Plus or Chubster)? I mean, in the end, functionally it yields the same result, right?

Switching internally just adds thatmuch more complexity. Hard to avoid those dreaded circuit boards when you go to a switcher.

Hey Scott, I'm thinking of getting the power amp section of a Plexi made in a rackmount unit from someone in Malaysia. If you're making Plexi clones, I wouldn't think this would be too different, except for the enclosure. How much could you do that for?

yo scott, i had an idea you might want to think about.....

Perhaps you could design a BF twin copy that runs 4 el34's and has a BF and a marshall plexi input w/ reverb on the BF. You can sell the amp with a vintage 30 and a g12h30, i'm sure it would be a hit since it's like a marshall stack and a twin in a box, though it's a bit more like the marshall, you still got the reverb and 2x12...

Is it possible to run 2 6l6's and 2 el34's together?
