Re: SDUG New Forum Pickup

Just to let all know I had a visit last night from Santa, yes before Thanksgiving and he asked for my help with all the economy troubles. He asked we keep the special untill christmas day. We will keep the prices at $110.00 each or $300.00 for the set. How could I say no Mr Claus? I love him and I know he wants each one of you to enjoy the holidays also!

MJ

Thank you thank you! I'll be able to place an order, with confidence, for sure!!!

For those of us who didn't join the forum until after the June date, will they still be available after Christmas? :fingersx:

Re: SDUG New Forum Pickup

Yes, this pickup should be available through the custom shop after the production run is finished.

Re: SDUG New Forum Pickup

Do we qualify for the 3 pickup discount of $100 if we initially bought 2 and then buy a third? I know dumb question...

Re: SDUG New Forum Pickup

Hey that's great!

BTW, when do you expect the first batches to be ready to ship?
(whenever will be fine mind you, just asking)

Re: SDUG New Forum Pickup

I think I will find a way to mount a strat pup in the tele bridge. If anyone knows of a place that sells a tele bridge that accepts strat single coils PM asap. Thanks.

Sucky illustration, but pretty much the idea of what I had seen here on someone's tele body for sale a few months ago. I'm sure someone must make a bridge like this...

Check this guy out:

"Also available in left handed and straight versions as well as "Strat" versions. That's right - Got a favorite Strat pickup that you always wanted to have in your T-Style Guitar. Well now you can !"

Might work for you.

Re: SDUG New Forum Pickup

I don't see how that works unless the bridge is wider. There's no space for side screws inside a Tele bridge and I think most cavities won't hold a Strat pickup either.

Re: SDUG New Forum Pickup

Strat bobbins are physically smaller than tele bobbins. I would think it would work. Still waiting for taipan to get back to me about the Strat tele plate. He did tell me all of their parts use the same mounting holes as vintage tele bridges.

Re: SDUG New Forum Pickup

I have a color question: I have a 50's style two-color sunburst Strat that I built with "parchment" color pickup covers - not exactly white, not exactly cream; sort of an aged white. I have Surfers in the guitar, and am thinking of putting a StraBro 90 in the bridge. I want the StraBro to match the other two pickups, but the parchment pickup covers I have in the guitar are whiter than the cream ones that came with the Surfers, and less white than regular white covers. Is the StraBro 90 available in parchment, or is there any way to custom order parchment color? Or is it possible for me to change the pickup cover?

Thank you!

i may be wrong but from the pic on the other post looks like its half of a humbucker, so it has the bobbin top colour a bit different. im not sure if there are partchemnt bobbins, but once again i may be wrong

Re: SDUG New Forum Pickup

Going to place an order very soon. How do these compare to P-Rails? As in:

1. How does the tapped Strat90 compare to the rail pickup? Which gets closer to the classic Strat sound? (I'm guessing the Strat90.)

2. How does the Strat90 in P-90 mode compare to the P-Rail in P-90 mode? I'm guessing in this case the P-Rail wins.

3. Which Strat90 is the best match to go between a pair of P-Rails - the middle or the neck?

Anyone able to comment?

Re: SDUG New Forum Pickup

They haven't been released yet. Have you listened to the demo of the Strabro-90 from Frank Falbo?

Yes I have, and it sounds great. (What's the origin of the name Strabro, anyway? I like Strat90 better, personally, but I seem to be in the minority.)

I guess I should have just directed my questions at Frank or MJ, since the rest of us are still waiting to get ours.

Re: SDUG New Forum Pickup

The origin is that we never decided on what to call it, mj said we can call it the strabro, strat90, or strabro 90 for the fence sitters out there, but there is no official name for the pickup yet as far as I know...
