I believe it was 07, maybe 08 and the Dime wave still had quite a bit of momentum. Washburn, though it had parted ways with him before his death, was the real deal in a lot of people's minds. However, the 90s and early 2000s 333s flat out sucked with crappy construction, hardware, and electronics. After his death, Boogie Street and Funky Munky Music did their own high end import runs based on the 333s but spec'd tighter. People still complained about the incorrect body shape (333s and 3s are visibly different) as well as the different neck joint. The next runs, right before they gave up, were still imports but based on the Dime 3 specs. This is one of a kind, and if I sound proud of that, I am. The rest of the run never happened, though it should have. This thing rips with the best of them and has the most comfortable neck I've got, starting with a pretty sharp V down by the low frets and changing to a medium-thin C up around 8 or 9. I added the gold knobs, cheapo pinstriping and TA decal to break up the acre of black...
...and because Burt Reynolds and SE Trans Ams are awesome.
The only real thing I changed was the Dimebucker out to a Dean Baker Act I had laying around, though I may give it another shot. All the rest-the Washburn branded Schaller Floyd, Grovers, Duncan 59n-all stock.
May I present the only maple necked/boarded Blackjack you'll ever see: The Turd Ferguson.
Ace, I realize the pic sucks but if it catches your fancy I'll get a better one Tuesday when I get off duty.
