I wouldn't do anything you don't need to do to get it sounding how you like it. I'd move in steps. Start by swapping just the pickups, and seeing how you like it. If you want more clarity, try 500K or 1M volume pots. Then, if you want less rolloff of the mids when you turn down the tone pots, try halving or quartering the values of the caps. It's a little more time consuming this way, but the benefits are: 1) you don't spend any more money than you need to, and 2) you get to hear how each change affects the tone, which will inform future decisions. If you swap out everything at once, you don't know exactly what components made what difference.
Also, be sure you spend lots of time carefully setting up your pickups after each step. I feel that if people simply learned to set up their pickups better (or at all), they wouldn't feel the need to do even half the mods that they end up doing.
