The spring reverb was something I thought the RV-6 did better than the HOF. The BOSS pedal made a go at a full spring reverb emulation, with the drips and splashes of a real spring pan. The HOF does a more sanitized interpretation of a spring reverb, perhaps aiming for what the designers of the first spring reverbs were trying to achieve. Buying the HOF was such an easy decision for me perhaps in part because I already had a Topanga, which I think is one of the best spring reverb pedals out there.

For home or studio performance it's a debatable tossup IMO, but for live usage I'd go Boss every day and twice on sinday (no typo lol).
Boss knobs are out of the way and I prefer the switch-style by a landslide,,,,,and they would probably even survive a landslide of wet mud and still work fine once dug-out and dried.

I use a Boss ES-8 switcher so stepping on the pedal is something I do not do unless it's off for some reason. I agree Boss pedals in general are amazingly reliable and rock solid. I actually like most of their effects over all others. My board has many Boss pedals on it and not for a lack of trying other things. I just keep going back to them as their sound sound more real if you will vs most other brands. It very well be because I have been using Boss stuff since way back in the late 70's early 80's and maybe I'm just so use to it that other things don't sound as good to me. I had so many different kinds of effects and I always end up selling them At one time I even had a damn near full tc electronics board due to I got the Spark and really loved how it worked sounded and reacted with my amp.

And I removed the hall of Fame from my Pedalboard tonight. Reason is I just like the RV-6 better. I wouldn't go as far as saying it's a better pedal then the hall of fame as you actually can do way more with the hall of Fame especially using Tone Print. This is something I may kick myself later for taking it off but honestly I just like the tonal quality of the RV-6. What the RV-6 does differently tonal wise is brightness. It has a much cleaner brighter sound to it. Yes you can tone shift it but comparing it from neutral to neutral it's brighter and seems to allow my natural guitar tone through. now whats really nice about the Hall of Fame is that it adds a touch of warmth to your natural tone. So if you have a slightly bright rig and always are trying to figure out how to get the balance, the hall of Fame when can help especially sitting as the last pedal in your effects chain. It cut out just a tad of the top end shimmer and rounds it. I know it's been voiced this way and I can see why so many people love it.

Well, it isn't on the website (yet). But there were videos popping up all during NAMM week, and I had read about it on other forums. So it is pretty safe to assume this pedal is a 'go'.

Maybe you could tweak the HOF EQ with the toneprint editor BUT if you like the RV-6, that's what matters

I'd rather let it go and let someone else have it then keep messing with to try to like it. The RV-6 does everything I need it to do and sounds amazing. I really love it.

And I just put my Hall of Fame back on my board tonight.

Wish I had room for both the Providence Chronos Delay and the Hall of Fame.

Usually, the Chronos is on the board and if I need reverb I keep the HoF sitting on top of my amp.

I just leave it on....set to a subtle setting. Sounds good with my Tweed Fenders and 50’s Gibson amps that don’t have Reverb.

BTW, I don’t doubt that there’s a better reverb pedal than the HoF...but it’s the best I’ve owned.

I started with a Boss RV-3...then got a Line 6 Verbzilla (which I liked better than the Boss)...and then got the HoF.

Never tried the Boss RV-6.

I’ve tried the RV-6 right next to an HOF, and I thought the TC Electronic pedal was more musical and pleasing to these ears. Personal taste and context are everything. I think they’re both fine pedals.

The Hall Of Fame Reverb in my TC Helicon VoiceLive 3X has parameter controls up the wazzu .

I'm not sure the individual stomp pedal have these extensive adjustments on the unit like the VL3X .

I had a Digitech GNX4 that had a great set of FX including the great reverbs and delays .

The Hall of Fame is one fantastic sounding unit and surpassed the IMHO Digitech's FX and there FX used
factory IC chips for the stomps like Tube Screamers - DOD - RAT - Big Muff etcetera .

If your after super control and tailoring out of any FX - The TC VL3X has what your after big time as far as I am concerned .

Maybe an H9 with midi control in one of the loops set usually for reverb but with the additional flexibility of the other effects would be killer.
