Turning a beat up Guild S300-D into a thrashing death machine! Need pickup advice!

Re: Turning a beat up Guild S300-D into a thrashing death machine! Need pickup advice

Hey... I haven't been checking this post very much.

The guitar is sweet now... Then I get this email from elvisml2.

Where can I check this serial number out? I want to make sure this isn't a scam... I am in love with this guitar.

So the serials don't match?

I once encountered a guy whose guitar had been stolen 30 years previously. (He knew about a dent from a Philips screwdriver on the side of the 12th fret which was not visible.) He just saw a frontal shot and recognized it. He actually paid my asking price, but I thought it was cool.

I have also had a few people try to con me out of a guitar by claiming it was stolen...

One I bought new in fact.

Any anti-con measures I can take? I really really really love this thing.

I ended up calling my local police station. They did a national scan for me and said that no Guitar with this serial number was reported stolen... As far as I am concerned, if it was not reported, then this is a scam.

Headaches. Everybody wants my beauty. ;-)

Ask about something distinctive not visible in the pictures if you can.

By the way, I owe everyone a picture. I have more, I just need to find them. I put a Super2 and a Super3 in her. I got the neck adjusted, frets leveled and electronics cleaned before hand.

You wouldn't believe how evil this thing sounds.

I can believe you, I have the same exact guitar and is a awesome... mine was made in 1977. The letter D in S300-D model means that came with dimarzios from factory, a superdistortion in bridge and paf pro in neck. You can make her sing like a bird or make a dense wall of sound, everything is at your hands. I am too late, I wanted to tell you: "leave her stock", but doesn't matter, good choice anyway with super2 and super3, the big mahogany block is still here...sustain and tone...the bridge is awesome, you can adjust every saddle in 3 directions and have the string spacing you want...
Never look back to Gibson!!

Cheers from Barcelona, SP
