What is the best guitar to kick the crap out of?

Re: What is the best guitar to kick the crap out of?

Les Paul Junior. Good shape. Beefy and strong, but not overly so, such that it seems heavy and unwieldy. No neck dive. No switch, and the knobs are outta the way. Wraparound bridge is pretty much bulletproof. You can't knock the strings out of the saddles (as there are no saddles, just raised bars for intonation), and you'll rarely, if ever, break strings there, like you can easily do on on a T.O.M. if you are playing hard. Bridge P90 does anything you want it to do. Available as single-cut or double-cut (I prefer single). Cheap. Reliable. Easily replaceable and/or repairable. Look good beat up. I can't think of a better guitar for really hard, boneheaded playing.

Teles and Strats can really take some beating without giving a crap. From that breed I have a Squier '51 that is part Tele part Strat. Ridiculously durable.

I see a lot of recommendations for the Tele, but they look flimsy. I don't think I've ever played one.

^Yeah, I already put my vote in for a Tele earlier in the thread. But just to add to that: do the people who smash guitars onstage ever use a Tele? I can't think of many/any off-hand. That should be a testimony to their toughness right there.
