What strings do you use?

Re: What strings do you use?

I use Thomastik strings, made in Austria. A totally unknown brand.
I only use unknown and obscure strings, just out of spite against all you D'Addaddaddrioda, Ernie Ball and DR fanatics.

Re: What strings do you use?

on my telecaster and rickenbacker i use elixir 12 guage strings nano webs
on my scappoled fretboard strats i use 10 guage elixirs nano web

Re: What strings do you use?

to humphrey bear, a scappoled fretboard means that the fret board is curved in word to make it easiar to bend notes and play quicker its badass and it looks like this

I already know what it is.

And it is called "Scalloped", NOT "Scappoled".

In case you did not see the pictures I posted on this board a while back: my custom Jackson has a fully scalloped fretboard.

Re: What strings do you use?

D'addario EJ20 jazz extra lights.

10-14-22-30-38-49 with the 22 wound. Everything except the 10 is a little tighter than your usual 10-46, but not as tight as a set of 11's or 10-52. I love 'em! Just enough extra chunk and dig to the strings without your fingers going sore learning to bend them.

Re: What strings do you use?

i use elixirs for both. lights for both. polywebs. i'm thinking about to switching to other strings... they cost wayy too much... =/

...And that Def Leppard graphic. Very country-and-western.

Considering the sheer number of poor spellers and grammar manglers on this forum (especially those who have yet to discover the comma), it would be a long and thankless task correcting or making fun of everyone who makes a spelling whoopsie.

We know what he means, and that's good enough.

Re: What strings do you use?

I liked the reply that I overheard a guy say in a music store in regard to the question ... * Well ... I generally use guitar strings for guitars, and bass strings for basses ... but you know, sometimes you just gotta be unconventional ... :::vbg::: * ... ROFL! ... :laugh2:

Re: What strings do you use?

To be honest, I just buy whatever. Out of the good brands.

Slinkys, D'Ardario, whatever. Did try the Gibson ones out recently too.

Re: What strings do you use?

Why do you mention that again?
Looks like my guitar bit you too hard in the ass.
You seem awfully obsessed with it.

Another thing Mr. Holy Crusader, God of this Board or protector of the weak, whatever:

I was not making fun of his sbeling.
And I am not playing with you. If you are that bored, go outside.

I think .9 makes the great sound. Not too low so i'll can get a high tone.
I've got a stratocaster with .8 and its sound is similar to child guitar when is clear, but when it's distorted it's very clean and precisely. However pickups cost 12 $.
So sound it's very fill of noise but with a good single coil i think .8 is the best

paul gilbert uses 8s.. he has a right to though :laugh2:

That's why he has a small, sh*tty tone.

Oh, and the DiMarzio Tone Zone's don't help either.......
