This is an interesting post and I am surprised MAC found DRs to unravel! You would think a company making hand wound strings and charging more would watch this issue!

I am thinking of trying D'Addarios or Dean Markleys on my guitars. It seems D'Addario is the safe bet these days. I wonder if they sell custom sets like DR and GHS.

I could also stick to GHS Boomers because they never break on me and work fine but I noticed a jump in clarity with D'Addarios when I tried them on my McCarty.

Anyone find GHS muddy at times?

I use a mix of the stock 9s that came with my epi and ernie ball 9s
