tube amps usually sound better when they are turned up a bit, which usually means loud. neighbors dont like loud much
I’m actually having my 2204 modded as we speak.
It’s getting a Metro zero loss loop, PPIMV, added gain mod and I’m thinking I may have a clean channel added as well.
For what it is worth, I can use my BE100 at bedroom levels and still get a driven sound. My point is that a good MV can go a long way.
Smaller amps sound great in small rooms, and if the PA is adequate you can gig pretty much anything, but when the room isn’t small and the PA isn’t adequate you quickly learn how fast a small amp runs out of headroom.

Absolutely...same with my Splawn.
it simply became impractical for me.
I don't get everyone saying a 100w head is too much to lug around. I have a mid-sized sedan and I get my whole rig in the car. With my guitar on my back in the gig bag I load in in one trip.

I hate them ever since i moved to a 3rd floor apartment with a parking space 100 yards away. And to be honest its not the heads that bother me as much as the cabs. But then again I only have 4x12's
Yep, I could see that being a problem. I almost never take the 4x12 out of the house. Making my life easier the person that owned my house before me was in a wheelchair. I have a ramp on the house, I can roll the amp right to the car. If I was in your situation my only amp would be a Fender Deluxe.

Oh damn a real ADA wheelchair ramp? that means not even a step up, a bumpy threshold, or a damn stoop!!
So it's settled then -when does "Securb's big ass Marshall Stack and SVT storage facility" open?
Trust me there are plenty of boat anchor amps in my basement. As far as stack storage goes you will have to talk to Jolly. If someone has a picture of Jolly's kitchen please post it.
