Whats your LIGHTEST guitar?

My lightest comes in at 5.1lbs. Its a Warmoth Roasted Swamp Ash body with a 1 Piece Roasted Quartersawn neck. Body has the tummy cut, forearm contour and contoured heel. with with light vintage tuners (wish I had done locking) and a Tele bridge that had the sides notched for easier palm muting. The body was done with a super thin nitro finish and the neck just had a light coat of tung oil on it (and burnished on the back.)

My lightest guitar is a partscaster made from a GFS Paulownia tele body, Edenhaus neck, Seymour Duncan 59 humbucker in the neck and an SD Vintage tele bridge pickup.

This was an aural experiment to find out if Paulownia is a good tone wood. I also built a GFS Paulownia strat body partscaster that I bought and built simultaneously. It turns out that Paulownia sounds fantastic

The strat partscaster isn't as light because I made a custom copper pickguard for a P90 in the neck and a tele bridge pickup. The pickups are Seymour Duncan.

Can a neck be made out of Paulownia or would that not be stable enough?

The issue with Paulownia is that it is similar to Balsa wood. Once you have added screws, it is best to leave the wood alone. The Paulownia bodies had a hard finish on them that helped stabilize whatever you attached to the bodies. Paulownia is a fabulous tonewood but would probably not do well for a neck wood.

3.3kg.

That one. It has very light korina body, very chunky honduran mahogany neck, pao ferro fretboard and titanium fixed bridge. Ibanez Js inspired design with 25" scale and SG/LP-ish tone. Slightly over 2kgs. I think its around 4,5-5lbs

My bass player hates the Parker he calls it my **** you guitar. He says it sounds fantastic. But if we are playing something new and he gets lost he can not look at my neck to see where we are, no fret markers. So, **** you, you can't follow me. He offered to buy me fretboard stickers.

That's why it's so light...saved the weight of the fret markers.

One of my lightest is the last one I made and posted a few days ago...the Green Burst. I think it is 5 lbs 14 oz. Most of the guitars I make weigh about 6 lbs.
