I appreciate your effort to reassure me... but Brian Setzer doesn't rock hard. He's a good example of what I'm afraid of!! :laugh2: But thanks! Zappa is a good one...

I do! I use an alnico II pro in the neck and a custom custom in the bridge of mine.

Ok....STOP. End your life now before I am forced to.

Why?

Because I used the word "emo"? :smack: Or because you can't stand that kind of music? :biglaugh:

Can't blame ya, either way. Believe you me, I use the term with great hesitation and reluctance. For better or for worse, genre names like that help descibe something fairly quickly and easily. So if you're a fan and you hate the term, you're not alone and I sympathize.

If you just hate the music, well once again you're not alone! I guess I'll have to write a song about it. Take that!

You know when the question comes up here about what is a "metal
guitar", it makes me think of Uncle Ted and his birdland.

If Gibson was smart they would tie Teddy up on a contract as the public face for Gibson guitars. I can see Uncle Ted doing that. ;)

EDIT: If you expand the definition a bit you might include the PGM Ibanez.

Chris Shiflett the second guitarist in the Foo Fighters uses lots of Semi hollows. the guitar i've seen him use the most recently has been a black ES-335 dot neck. good tone too IMO.

Alex Lifeson, you may have heard of him, recorded most of the first three or four Rush albums using ES-335s and ES-355s.

Definately! I actually know the guy who owns this exact guitar now, won it in a contest a few years ago, and you can tell he rocked hard on it!
