On a more serious note, do these spouses know what it is like when the SO is into cars, much less cars that are old and doing repairs themselves?

Just take them to visit one of those people's house, or what's left of the house.

My gf complains from time to time because I keep them all on display in the den, my "den trophies". I've already explained to her that wooden instruments need to stay in a climate controlled environment to avoid problems due to heat/humidity, etc. She rolled her eyes at that one, but it's a fact, so meh.

Anyway, she knows who paid for all of them. :wave:

I'm one of those guys. Cars and guitars......and guns. A grown adolescent with spending money. :D But I also pay for the house she lives in with me, so......

Just marry wisely and you won't have a problem. Remember, contrary to popular belief, one, properly, does not fall in love, rather one thinks in love.

26 years of marriage as of yesterday (to the same woman!)

5 guitars in total, currently own 4

Dean V - Dave Mustaine signature model
Ibanez EX (thought it was an RG, but got corrected) - first guitar thing I ever airbrushed
BC Rich VG-1 Virgin - pawn shop find, bought it on a whim
Reid and Son Strat kit - still building, which my wife bought for me for Christmas

Sold my Epi Les Paul Jr. - I just hated the feel of the neck and the sunburst was, IMHO, really ugly. That, and my belly needs a cut away. LOL.

The lovely redhead to whom I'm wed has only one condition to me expanding my collection further.....

LEARN TO PLAY BETTER!!!!!!

I remember reading a quote in an old metal magazine that went something like this: " Guitars are like women, there are many but it's hard to choose one " . So for your situation, she should prefer if you have more guitars than more women.:amish:
