What's the best deal you've ever got on a guitar? Please include Pics-I enjoy seeing them.

I haven't really found or searched to much for insane deals. But feel my single cut made by Gauge guitars, is the best investment/deal i've made (as far as guitars go).

I recently aquired an ADA MP-1 tube preamp for $50. They usually go for $200 or so.

Here's the best deal I've ever heard of, though.... back in the day, my dad was a carpenter, and was over at this dude's house. They went out to the garage for something, and my dad sees a Gibson ES-175 sitting in the corner. He asks the guy if he plays, the guy says yeah, and my dad compliments the Gibby, and asks if the guy would think of selling it. Dude replies, "What, that old thing? My son just bought me a REAL guitar, a Dixon! You can HAVE that piece of sh1t!"

I bought my rg570 on ebay. I believe it was $305 for the rg570, in totally mint condition, with a like-new hard shell case.. $305 including shipping. The guitar was 3 years old but had absolutely no wear, like it was sitting in its case for the whole 3 years. Literally not a scratch and the frets hadn't been touched. I was glad to find that

Here's a pic but I don't have any really good pics of it. It's nothing fancy of course, far more playability than sexy flashiness.. but it rocks with the dimarzios.

My coolest score was probably my 89 35th Anniversary LP Custom 3 pickup model made by the pre Historic Gibson Custom Shop. It's worth $3000-$4000. It plays and sounds absolutely incredible.
I got it in unplayed condition with a pro setup! A rich producer bought it for his son, then the kid sold it to me for $1300, so he could buy a Godin! ROFL

It now has an aged switchtip.

The only Custom that came with Klusons.......a plus in my book.

Got a brand new Martin D-28 in hard case for $995 off a blues lawyer.

I've gotten a lot of good deals by keeping my eye on used ads, but those two are a couple of my favorite guitars.

I odnt know how insane but I recently got my Gretsch pro jet which normally goes for $500 for $330 with a gig bag.

I've never got any killer deal on a guitar... only very good guitars for good prices... that's perfect in my book altho I would enjoy saying that I found this or that pricey guitar for 10$... I keep my eyes open..

the only real score I got (not a guitar mind you) was a set of brand new Seth Lovers for 70$...

Oh, there've been a few.... a late 70's Rick 4001 bass for $425, a '75 SG Standard for $150, a '78 Fender Jazz Bass with pearloid markers for $400, a '79 Dean Z for $200, a Fender 75 guitar amp (still my favorite amp) for free....

Well, we are talking back in the late 80's and early 90's, so those prices are out of date. And, of course, the Strat, LP, and 335 got sold to pay the rent or whatever eventually...so I lose. Still have the archtops though...

I traded it in on my new gibby. I sorta miss it because it played awesome.

I never get sick of those pics. I don't like Les Pauls all that much and I don't like humbuckers, but I have a strange attraction to that guitar
