Does this Squier apart from manga stickers also has an invisible 3-way? Or does ti make use of push pulls?

Squier '51 has a master volume and a 3-way rotary, no tone.

Over the years I have gotten many deals.
Over the last few years these come to mind
I bought this one as a NOS from a local dealer for $800 kept it a year and sold it for $1300

I sold the Ibanez because this one blew it AWAY !! A 1999 Washburn USA WM4 i bought off ebay for $400!! Blows ANY Les Paul I have ever owned out of the water!!

I snagged this one in a local Pawn shop for $200 out the door. It's a 1995 USA Washburn MG 100 and now has a Crazy8/ Dimarzio Blue Velvet set up in it. Out of the 11 or so guitars I have around this is the one guitar I ALWAYS have with me on a gig!!

one garage sale find i grabbed that knocks my socks off was a 1989 1 inch rack mount Roland GP8 multi effect unit and an FC 100 controller.... it works amazingly well in front of tube amps for sure unlike todays modern Modeler preamps.... Paid $20 for it.....

Gibson Les Paul Custom prototype that never went into production. Only 1 of 3 made, and the only one in copper metallic (the other two were red and blue) - $1475 (new)

Gibson custom shop historic 1954 black beauty reissue - $1500 shipped to my door.

Royal blue McCarty with a one-piece top - $1350

I got it from Dave's Guitars in WI. Dave had a close relationship with Gibson before they screwed their on-line dealers and he used to get some cool stuff. He was talking to his rep one day who mentioned they had them and did Dave want them? I should have bought all three. But I ended up selling it off to a fellow SD forum member.

So that was yours before it landed in XSSIVE's hands? Or is that not the same guitar (looks like it)? I've always thought that was one of the two sexiest Les Pauls I have ever seen, especially with the chrome rings and black bobbins.

I got a very rare and incredibly playing Washburn Steve Salas from Ascension for what I feel was a great price. Not a "steal" but Im happy.... Just wish DHL hadnt been a bunch of Neandrathals..

24.75" scale, neck thru, mahogany body/neck. Duncan pups. USA made. yummy!!

Good deal when I did this, but time turned it into a bad deal, lol. I traded a Guild Starfire for an Ibanez doubleneck. I paid $90 for the Guild and the doubleneck was $400 at the time. The Guild also needed some neck straightening. I sold the doubleneck for $550 in 92 to help raise funds to buy my first house. I think that Guild goes for a few grand now. It was a single cutaway hollowbody, walnut in color showing all the grain. Sweet guitar. Got a photo of it somewhere.

Well I got me 1986 Gibson Les Paul Custom around 1990 for $400. At the time the cheapest you could get a used LesPaul for was $800, new Les Paul Standards were going for $1300.

I just picked up a 1993 Jackson USA Soloist for $800.

2006 Fender Malmsteen Strat $900

Ibanez TS-9 $40

Gallien Krueger 250 ML amp $50

Line 6 Pod XT $130

Marshall DSL401 $400

I prefer to buy used, let someone else eat the depreciatrion. Also, the crack epidemic of the '80's made it a great time to hunt through Pawn Shops for finds

About the best I've done was a Fender Showmaster Celtic for $220. Local dealer matched Musician's Friend blowout pricing. The other local dealer still sells them for $660 last time I looked.

Thats great you could sell the body for that much. I just bought a highway 1 tele body on ebay for 150, they routinely go for that much.

Yeah man. i was expecting to take a loss. it was a loaded body ready to slap on a neck and strings with an american standard loaded pickguard.

I bought a Ibanez WH-10 wah (the type J.Frusciante uses) for $95 off of some guy in Canada. I was a great, very vocal sounding wah. Unfortunatley I was force to sell it, I ended up selling it for $189.00 on ebay.

That was a nice profit.

Yea, I'm the original owner and sold it to XSSIVE. I also added the Duncans and chrome pickup rings. I think I threw a Distortion in the bridge and a Pearly Gates in the neck.

I guess this is a really old thread.

I don't normally get great deals. This might qualify though. This is a Washburn body that I got for $75, and I put it together with a Kubicki Strat neck that I've had for years, and a bunch of other random parts:

That's a bridge plate from a Schecter Strat whammy bar that I'm using for a Hardtail bridge, and a Tone Zone humbucker, that seems to be ideal if you don't have a neck pickup.

It's my computer room guitar. It's arguably as good as anything I've ever put together, and at a fraction of the cost, and effort.
