Re: chorus but which one ?
I LOVE chorus, I HATE chorus..  
- I think the things most choruses are missing are: 
a level/MIX control capable of giving more dry, less chorus, and a TIME control.
Chorus is based on a very short delay signal, with it's time swept up and down, mixed back with your dry signal, producing a moving phase difference, and a resultant series of moving notches in frequency response that we perceive as "chorus," very similar, but different to a phase shifter..

Trouble is, you're always hearing that very short delay, which is a strange, intense, and to many people, unpleasant sound. 
- 
It adds a boxy, midrangey quality to your sound, and alters the attack of your notes.
- 
So it becomes an "all or nothing" "special effect." We want that lush quality, but can't stand to use a chorus box for long..
I am a big fan of delays with modulation, where you control all the parameters; mix, delay time, speed ,& depth. 
(If you use a long delay time. you have to use a lot less "depth" or "width" or you'll end up with wild detuning..)
If you are a big fan of mellow old school analog sounds, may I suggest:  - - - The SEYMOUR DUNCAN VAPOR TRAIL ANALOG DELAY. 
- As chorus. - Set the delay up as a short "slap-back," then reduce the delay time until you don't hear a discrete echo, then adjust speed, & depth to taste. - SWEET!
Better still; get 
TWO VAPOR TRAIL DELAYS, one set up for echo, (with some modulation of course..) and the other as chorus.
For a really cute trick; put the chorus unit 
IN THE FEEDBACK LOOP of the VAPOR TRAIL! - This will preserve your note attack and tone, but your decay will be very lush and swirly..
STRYMON also makes a ridiculously beautiful chorus. It's a little spendy, and of course, DIGITAL. 
 
The VAPOR TRAIL however is a really GREAT DEAL!
ALSO: PEOPLE ARE NOT USING ENOUGH PHASE SHIFTERS..
