I keep seeing mentions of people reusing strings, but I never understood how they do it.
The kinks from bending over almost 90 degree angles and the tight winds from the tuners kinda make it impossible to thread through the string-through-body channels and rewind them on the tuners tightly
Unless you guys have some super secret method of straightening strings that I haven't learned about yet....

The lacquer under the decal needs more time to harden before it gets re-activated by the clear on top of a decal. If it were me, I'd remove the decal and let the finish harden for a month or two, and re-visit the headstock/decal part of the project further along the track.
Also ... did you give the decal a few very fine mist coats of lacquer before applying them ? That helps decals resist the shock of being hit with full coats of lacquer.
Wanted to have it ready for a gig on May 25th.
7 days, according to Dover when I contacted them. I budgeted two weeks for curing, just to be safe.
