Yeah -certainly not as much -but ALL of the classics do -I haven't opened one up since the JCM2000 -but some of the DNA must still ibe n there on the newer ones -I mean, they still do the "Marshall" thing right

For what it's worth -

I gigged a Classic 30 for years, and then I used a Delta 1 15 at an open mic. Promptly sold the Classic 30 because the Delta had so much more dimensionality to the sound. Fatter, fuller, smoother, more ballsy. I've been using the Delta now for around 15 years and am never dissatisfied with it's performance. The Classic 30, by comparison, always had a stiffer, more clinical sound that I had just come to accept...until I played the Delta.

So if you want the Peavey 30 watt amp it is in both the C30 and the Delta, but to me the Delta has way more going for it.

This is all moot at the moment, as I am deeply in love with my new Iceman. That said...I really think I'm gonna ditch the Fender.

Ha ha ha ....Well that sounds all neato and stuff, It may sound great for their first ever metal amp.... Lol nice try..... I won't ever play a strat or a tele either....fokkin hate Fender everything. I'm the same with Apple products.... I know what I like and I know what I hate.

I know this is somewhat an acknowledged "hang up". -sort of like me and PRS guitars, Crate Amps, etc etc

but honestly, if you have never played metal through a Fender -you are missing something magical and different to add to your pallet.

It's more sort of brilliant and present sounding with less low mid throat and a big ass bottom. -Just different enough to mix in with the other stuff to make an album sound massive.

I mean you already own like a dozen guitars and amps that do a really similar thing right? Humbucker into a high gain amp right?

I suggest a Fender for your massive metal arsenal.

Yep if you listen to Lips and Ted they have different tones and very different guitars but there is a thread of similarity in the guitar tones they get from the Fenders. It is that unique Fender DNA.

I get it.
I would only correct your statement to say that all my guitars and amps do different things. Granted they all do metal first. Different flavors of metal, but all metal.

From a recording and engineering perspective it may just make sense.
From a tonal diversity standpoint it may just make sense.
I have been for the last few years swapping thru lots of amps in search of that very thing.
(btw my Engl has the fattest bottom I've ever heard anywhere.... It's like a truckload of Thick Latinas shaking what their momma gave them.... and then some!)

Also, reaching out for new and retro vintage sounds that millions of people adore.... I understand that but that's not me.


From my own thickheaded, hardcore metalhead standpoint, I will make my stand on this hill, and repeat myself again and again.... F#@K anything Fendurrr.
