it's a '79 i looked it up again, it ends in an L which means '79

The cord is "hard wired".......not "hand wired"

yeah he's right i ment the powerchord is hard wired to the amp not removable. i just made hard wired one word since i didn't know if it was one or two lol.

All JMPs do-

Just the hard wired power cord, the voltage selector and impedance selector changed.

The early JMP's are still hand wired with no PCB but I belive Marshall switched to PCB's in 1972, the first amps to say JMP on the face plate was in 1968.

I scored that little 30W 1986 Marshall combo a few days ago, and even though it's solid state, it has the same basic tone. I was getting some awesome tones out of it, when I put the Klon overdrive or T. Rex Mudhoney Fuzz in front of it. I almost forgot it wasn't a 50W tube halfstack, it sounded so good!

Well guys there is one other amp in the running, and it is on the other end of the spectrum. I've got to decide if I want to do the multi-channel thing or not.

I figure if I pick it up I will retube it with 34's after talking to Christian yesterday. I had thought about KT-88's as well though.
