They're finally doing what I thought they should have been doing all along. The 90's Gem Series were the only Studios that ever perked my interest.
Let's be honest.....nobody really wants a LP Studio with humbuckers. It's just a budget poor man's attempt at buying a Std. There's nothing to be proud about owning a humbucking Studio. But if they always were P-90 guitars, the whole point of the Studio line would be realized as desireable. And they should also put out a mini humbucker line of Studios.
Heck, just reinvent the entire Studio line as P-90 and mini humbucker, as far as I'm concerned.

From what I've read it's a chambered body with a maple cap.Is it solid mahogany? Or does it have a maple cap? It looks like the lack of maple might account for the price difference, but I didn't go to gibson.com to check.
Holy P-90 goodness batman!

Lack of neck binding just looks.... wrong.
I know you're all about the P90/Goldtop combo...but I'd seriously get the honey burst, keep the neck P90 and route the bridge for a humbucker. I really dig that P90/hummer combo, just kind of hate the BFGs they come in.
