Re: Take some NEW pics of your favorite guitar...

Here's mine! It's a PRS SE, but hey : Doesn't it look pretty with those Seymour Duncan's?

Sweet axe, I love those white pickups!

It's just the Rebel overexposing :) My wife's 40D is more on target.

(not serious, I think the Rebel just obeyed to my apaerture (mis-)setting).

Re: Take some NEW pics of your favorite guitar...

My workhorse.
Started life as a 70's Ibanez Silver Series Strat.
Went through lots of configurations, including a very early "pre-fine tuners" Floyd and emerged as the workshop pickup testing axe.
The idea was;Loosen the strings, unscrew the tailpiece,remove/replace pickup, reassemble. Pickup changes in 2 or 3 minutes.

This version came together around '89.

The paint: Oh boy:eyecrazy:.
I was trying out a new painter. I said "let's see what you've got" a couple of days later he drops in this. Flourescent pink covered in purple metallic crackle with a blue pearl tinted clear coat.
I just about puked when I saw it!

Anyway we bolted the thing back together with an early Kramer Ferrington elec/acoustic neck and a pink YES PINK, SD JB. and stuck it in the workshop and tried to ignore it.
But,it was the guitar I used to pick up when ever I wanted to just play for a while or was going to jam or rehearse. So I got used to it.....

20 years later,it's still my main axe.
People still puke when they see it,but it probably got more work through the shop than any other form of advertising.
People would come up to me at gigs and say,"Man,that is the UGLIEST FREAKIN' guitar I've ever seen!!!"
We'd talk guitars, next thing you know, they were in the shop having repairs done or buying new stuff :)

Anyway,I hope no one has just eaten, coz here it is.....

Re: Take some NEW pics of your favorite guitar...

I know I might be the minority here but I think what it's missing is a pink neck pickup to match. Then it'd be perfect :)

(well, except from the fact that I hate hardtails in a strat but in this case I can understand it...)

Re: Take some NEW pics of your favorite guitar...

Just got it finished recently, no need to explain what it is ;) 80's JBJ, 80's Floyd, C series Kramer USA neckplate from '84, Schaller mini's, Southeast guitars body, Customwoods neck w/ an oil/wax EB type finish.

These are beauties. I'm wondering how much costs a Kramer like this?

Re: Take some NEW pics of your favorite guitar...

Hey Franky I have the singlecut version for my number 1 axe. They could be brothers! or sisters...whichever way you wanna go.

The pictures are kinda dark but they're all I have right now.

Ha ha it looks pretty sweet, I've always loved those singlecut guitars, but I simply don't feel confortable playing them. What pickup is in the bridge? Have you kept the neck pickup?

Re: Take some NEW pics of your favorite guitar...

Welcome to the SDUGF, frankyboy! That PRS is a really nice one.
kramer.geetar, your B-Series Kramer Pacer Special looks simply awesome! It reminds me a tad of Gilmour (your avatar has nothing to do with that, BTW). Kinda like a Satriani-meets-Gilmour with that black body and maple neck. Single coils would make it perfect.
And uOpt's Burny looks fantastic, got to love that LP with double cream/white pickups, cream rings, and a cherry burst with a plain maple top, simply classic.

You got it dead on man, I love Pink Floyd and David Gilmour, he was the one that first got me into guitars and playing. Amazing person and guitar player and I bought that black Pacer cause I always wanted a Gilmour-looking axe, I love his black Strat and I love Kramer guitars so that black one has a lot of meaning to me.

sweet guitars you built the frankie?

I didn't build it no, but I picked out all the parts and had someone paint it for me.
