Just thought these pages needed an Explorer. This one is from about 1989 or 1990, I forget the exact date of purchase. It metallic grey when new and improvong with age.
The LP Custom was ordered in 1972 and delivered in 1973. This is the guitars' orginal factory finish. Over the ages, Ive tried numerous pup combinations in this guitar from Gibson, Dimarzio and SD. So far, the best matched to this guitar and myself is the 59n, 59b, and the JB.
The 59 in the SG neck position seems boomy to me and would not have considered it in the LP except for the good comments on this board. The pups were worth a try and they will be staying in for a long while.
Here is my '03 and '09 American Strats both with SD Hot Rails in the bridge position.

And here is my newest guitar with that I puirchased on shear adreneline becuase of the pure vintageness. I'm selling it though as I have my sights on a vintage fender amp and will use the proceeds of theis for that....
No:2 and No:2...
Not the newest pictures....as I have changed pickups on both, the Heartfield is now a dual bucker machine(a mix of two old DmZ PAF's, now zebra, need to make a new pickguard soon), the Kramer got back to black covered pickups and a modded DmZ in the bridge.
