haha...nah you were pretty much an "insults only" kind of guy :lmao: . I don't even remember who it was that posted the retarded meme's tbh... and all those fun threads kept being deleted so fast it was hard to keep track of everyone's pearl's of wisdom anyway...
As for subject matter, there's noting more that you or me (or anyone ) could say on the matter that was'nt said before..So that's going nowhere.......
I always thought the good thing about the guitar was that they didn't teach it in school.
~ Jimmy Page
You can't overthink the music. Mood and intensity can't be manufactured. The blues isn't about structure; it's what you bring to it. The spontaneity of capturing a specific moment is what drives it.
~ Jimmy Page
Let me explain something about guitar playing. Everyone's got their own character, and that's the thing that's amazed me about guitar playing since the day I first picked it up. Everyone's approach to what can come out of six strings is different from another person, but it's all valid.
~ Jimmy Page
So many people are frightened to take a chance in life and there's so many chances you have to take.
~ Jimmy Page
^ I think he says it all....it's essentially what Mancuso's saying & what I'm saying. I mean I've said all I have to say on the subject, but that ^^ probably covers everything in a nutshell.
I think you're overlooking the fact that Jimmy Page was a session musician, having to read charts to perform tracks for other people's music, for as long as he was in Led Zeppelin.

whew, this topic was a riot. mostly "old man yells at cloud" type stuff but then dudes bragging about mma and how much they bench
like #wow #whoa, time to pick up the guitar and practice, fellas
How many times do you have to lie that EVH didn't know any theory? He's a distinguished alumnus of the Pasadena City College music department.

That's a year and a half. A pretty long time. You can learn a lot in a year and a half, especially if you're already talented. Why would he not have learned any theory during that time? I studied for a little over a year and a half with my teacher and learned a crap load. The majority of the advanced concepts he uses. And that was only going once every 2 weeks.
^ It's community college, you sign up. But that's ridiculous to posit that he went there for a year and a half and learned zero theory. He was such a gifted musician but was too much of a moron to pick up any knowledge in school. Yeah sure. That makes sense.
