Tough question.... I'd probably choose the bobcat, coz if he started to piss me off, I wouldn't feel bad about shooting him.

Do you have all your teeth? Are they all real? ( I only ask as I have a fake tooth... hahaha)

Yes, but my response might change in a few weeks. We went a long time without dental insurance, and as a result, I ignored a lot of little tooth pains and whatnot for years. Now, we have fantastic dental insurance, and an appointment next week sometime. Two of my teeth have chronic aches, one bad enough that I've not been able to function when it was at it's worst. I'm expecting some fillings, but if he gives me the option of pulling either of those, I might go with it.

What is your favorite condiment?

I like an awful lot of them, but I get really bent out of shape if there's no mustard. I probably put that on the most different things (hot dogs, burgers, burritos.... lots of stuff). Just the plain old yellow, not the fancy crap.

What is the most impressive thing you've ever done? In other words, what is your most proud moment?

Proudest moment.... when we got to move to where we live now, and were no longer living check to check. We're definitely not rich by any standard, but my wife took 6 weeks of unpaid maternity leave from her job (had she been there another month, she'd have got something like 75%-Doh!), but all the bills got paid, everybody got stuff for Christmas, and now that she's back, it's like it never even happened.

Would you play this guitar?

Sure. Once you've had kids for a few years, you're pretty much incapable of being embarrassed.

Is this a face only a mother could love?

Eegads.... I dunno... it's kind of growing on me the more I see it.

If you had to eat only one culinary style of food for the rest of your life what would it be?

Mexican, without a doubt. There's a fantastic range of tastes, from semi-bland to way too rich, so I think it would take me a long time to get tired of it. And the beer.... Mexican beer is my favorite.

Wow, that sounds like me!! I watched Ep III again yesterday, just because I could. I got 3 chapters in to the Hobbit and stopped reading and have never attempted the LOTR trilogy...

I read the Hobbit, and enjoyed it, but when I started Fellowship of the Ring, and they spent like 80 pages on Bilbo's birthday celebration, I kinda got bored.

On the other hand, I have probably read 7 or 8 SW books in the last month and a half, and we watch at least one of the films every weekend.

Where and when did you have your greatest onstage moment?

Man, I haven't had ANY onstage moments in a long time, unless you count doing setups & tear downs for my uncle's band

The best one was probably, believe it or not, the variety show when I was a senior in high school. Probably my favorite band I was ever in, too. We were called The Killbossi Surf Stars, because we didn't have a name, and they made us come up with one at the audition thing. On one of the songs we were gonna play, my guitar was drenched in reverb and tremelo (sounded surfy), and somebody said "Killbossi" so we thought it was funny.

We played two songs, an original called The Killbossi Surf Song (which was about a chicken getting run over by a motorcycle, and a girl who kills her boyfriend and his dog because he ran over her cat), and the Violent Femmes's Blister in the Sun.

We did our original first, and I stood there with my jaw hanging open the whole time, coz people really liked it. There were all these girls I'd never have thought about talking to giving us that look, some people are singing the chorus by the end... it was crazy. So, Blister in the Sun got hit with a lot more confidence that it had previously, including our singer dropping his mic and taking a lap around the room in the instrumental break, then collapsing at the end of the song. The drummer kicked over his kit, and I tossed my pick to somebody and actually threw the guitar to a guy I knew who was sitting up front.

For one evening, I felt like a rock star

I tried writing this earlier, but it came out as a book.... here's a more condensed version.

Age 0 - 12: Mostly top 40 stuff, or what my parents listened to. I remember particularly liking Bob Seger, the Monkees, Bon Jovi, the Beach Boys, Huey Lewis & the News, Michael Jackson, Tears for Fears, Wham, and Duran Duran.

13 - 18: A friend turned on the local rock/metal station, and it was all over. I started playing guitar around 13 or 14, as well. My favorite stuff during these years was: NIN, Marilyn Manson, Metallica, Pantera, Testament, Alice In Chains, Nirvana, Van Halen, Soundgarden, Joe Satriani, Steve Vai, Black Sabbath, Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, Rollins Band, Tool, Helmet, Silverchair.... stuff like that.

19 - present: I more or less like everything I did before, plus a bunch of other stuff. During my early to mid 20's, I was all metal. Didn't matter what kind, but the heavier the better. Now, I rarely listen to any death metal, black metal, or any of that. There are a few old favorites I still revisit from time to time (Napalm Death for instance), but I've come back from that extreme somewhat.

I just checked my mp3 player, and it's got lots of stuff I would've totally rolled my eyes at 10 years ago. Ryan Adams, 311, Phish, Agatsumi (the shamisen guy), tons of jazz, classical, a whole bunch of old school rap (Jay Z, Ice Cube, etc....)

Favourite authors/books?

Stephen King will always be a favorite. I've read everything but the absolute newest stuff of his, and have only not liked one of them (Dreamcatcher). Nearly all the Star Wars books I've been reading lately have been really good, with Timothy Zahn, Karen Travis, and Sean Stewart being my favorite authors so far. The book Yoda: Dark Rendezvous was particularly good. I also really like Nick Hornby, particularly for A Long Way Down and High Fidelity (Did you ever get A Long Way Down? PM me if not). I like James Patterson (The Alex Cross and Women's Murder Club books) in little bits, but get sick of him really quickly. I'm kind of up in the air about Robert Ludlum at the moment.

Other faves are Vonnegut, Clive Barker, Douglas Adams, and Dan Simmons (Simmons's books Summer of Night and A Winter Haunting are two of the best horrors I've ever read).

On the other hand, I think Tom Clancy and John Grisham are good authors, but I've never been able to finish anything by either of them. They come up with fantastic characters, but bore the piss out of me with the military and court room crap, respectively.

I know you didn't ask, but I think Chuck Palahniuk is the most overrated guy to write a book in my lifetime. Maybe I just don't get it, though, as it seems his fans' favorite things about him are the things that irritate me (mentioning that someone smiled, then going off about how many muscles are used to smile, which bones are involved, etc....) His material also has the intellectual depth of a jaded 17 year old. Fight Club is one of the only movies that I feel eclipses it's book version.

Favourite place you have visited?

At 20, it was Windsor, Ontario (Canada).

Now that I'm married w/ kids, Gatlinburg, Tennessee.

Favourite tipple?

Does that mean alcohol, or just beer? I'll answer both My fav mixed drink is whiskey and coke with a big chunk of lemon. Fav beer changes a lot, but I love Corona, Modello, Sam Adams, Guinness, Heinekin, Dos Equis, Rickert's Red.... mostly stuff w/ flavor. That being said, if somebody has a cooler full of Coors/Miller/Budweiser/whatever, I'll probably drink that, too.

Packing your bag of 10 items for exile to a desert island?

1. Flint/steel for starting fires

For starters the way I see your posts, you tend to play devil's advocate towards the common ideas, if anything to get people thinking towards what it is they want as opposed to the normal way of doing things to which I applaud your efforts. Then again maybe you're just messing with people:scratchch

I read your question earlier, and as luck would have it, I think my older two answered it for me. My wife is an RN, and works 7am-7pm on Thursday, Saturday and Sunday. As a result, I have the kids all day on the weekend. Add up a 5 yr old, 2 yr old, and 7 week old, and it equals frayed nerves quite often.

I made an extremely conscious effort yesterday and today to think about every thing I was going to say, prior to saying it. As a result, I didn't snap at the older two like I did last weekend. Even with both of them being slightly sick (fevers), we all had a very pleasant weekend.

This evening, I was putting them to bed, and told the 5 yr old I had a really good time with him yesterday and today. He said 'Yeah, I did too". After that, I was tucking in the 2 yr old, and gave him a kiss on the cheek. He reached up, rubbed his face and told me he was rubbing it in.

I don't think that "successful parent" is a permanent status, but something you continue to strive to be. For the moment, I think I'm pretty darn close.

Have you seriously considered getting that "laid back" blues band together?

As it is, I have no time at all for any extracurricular activities. However, once I graduate school and treat myself to a *real* amp, I'm going to find some more local musicians (I've bumped into a few), and see if anybody would be into an ambient/soundscapey open jam. Basically, lots of guys with delay and reverb pedals playing with their eyes shut

When that doesn't work, I'll start asking who wants to play some blues instead.

As a Star Wars fan, Have you read "Splinter of the Mind's Eye"?

I have not, but just got done requesting it from the library. Thanks for bringing it to my attention.

Flight or fight?

Depends on how many people I have to fight. Seriously, I've never been in a real fight. One of my best friends and I were stupid drunk, got pissed at each other, and threw a couple punches back and forth, but some girl (drunker than us) started getting naked in the yard, so we promptly lost interest in whatever we were mad about.

What is, in your opinion, the greatest guitar tone ever recorded.

Oh man.... the lead tone on "American Woman" is more or less my favorite. Smooth, fat, and it sounds like it could go on for days. However, I've really been taken by Joe Satriani's tone on the song "Cool #9" (album version).

When I was 17-20, I was the total NIN/Skinny Puppy pseudo-goth, and had an on again/off again girlfriend who used to cheat on my all the time. As you would imagine, I spent a lot of time thinking about killing people.

IMHO, the biggest problem with human beings is the opposition to progress. By "opposition to progress", I mean the overwhelming desire to keep things just as they've always been. Falling in line and going with whatever the guy before you said leads to stagnation. Now, perhaps you genuinely agree with what that guy said, and that's cool. What's not cool is just assuming that you do. I've spent a lot of time pondering all sorts of things, and no matter how much grief or whatever I encounter whilst doing so, I really do believe that I'm always better off at the conclusion.

In simpler terms, nobody ever discovered anything just going through the motions.

If you could have one super power what would it be?

Being a shapeshifter would be awesome.

What if it was a force power instead?

Oh definitely the telekinetic stuff, like picking up stuff or pushing things without touching them. I always grin when somebody opens a door or throws a droid with the Force. That, or the Jedi Mind Trick. I unfortunately spend a lot of time around weak minded people, so that would be a bunch of fun

Light side or dark side?

I actually appreciate a lot of the Sith mindset. Mostly the idea that it's foolish to only know one side of something. It's a shame that part of being a Sith is that believing that the end always justifies the means, because they really do have a more realistic and sensible attitude towards the Force than the Jedi.

What kind of light saber would you have(color, double or single blade, handle size/shape)?

Would you believe that I've spent a bunch of time thinking about this?
Dark blue, single blade with a fairly *normal* looking handle. I always though Obi-Wan had classy lightsabers. In one of the Darth Bane books, the Sith sword master (a badass Twi-Lek) talked about how the normal lightsaber is the most effective. Why? The others (double-blade, using two of them, light whip) rely on intimidation rather than true efficiency. He said the double-bladed one isn't hard to fight against, because if you see one blade, you know the other's position as well, and the two sabers technique requires you to split up your concentration too much.

Through a crazy turn of events, you find yourself moving to California to work as a character designer for the Star Wars TV series. Hugh Laurie has just been cast for a part you have to create--what kind of character would he play.

Either a bounty hunter (shave his head and give him an eye patch), or a dark Jedi who everyone suspects of being a Sith, but never goes that far.

Yes. It's a little more trying this time, simply because of having all 3 on the weekend by myself. It's getting better, though, and he is alot of fun. Truthfully, I like them as babies, but 2-ish is just perfect. They're big enough to be able to converse, and blow your mind with the crap they say, but still small enough that they don't have friends with less-than-savory behaviors.

Hell yeah (hehe ). I should probably PM you sometime regarding beliefs and whatnot, as mine are likely quite different than the last time we discussed that stuff.

Part of me wishes I'd bought one years ago, but I'm kind of glad I waited. I think I'm mature enough now to actually approach the bass for what it is, rather than play it like a guitar player. I went so far as to not allow myself to use a pick, so I couldn't think of it like a guitar. I go back and forth now with pick and fingers, and understand that picking a bass is a technique of it's own.

The short answer is "yes, I am enjoying it that much" I'm probably about 80/20 bass/guitar now, and just find bass more spiritually satisfying.
