...anyway I guess I should probably actually ask a question...

Have you ever gone a week without fantasizing about me?

...

Re: Well Episode XVI: Return of the Jedi + X

Do you set goals of where you want to be in 1, 5, 10 years etc.?

If so, what are they?

Re: Well Episode XVI: Return of the Jedi + X

Love shakira, mustangs and danceballs :D

Re: Well Episode XVI: Return of the Jedi + X

What are your two most embarrasing moments?

I've been thinking about this one, and as I said before, having kids rids you of the ability to be embarrassed. Let me think back a bit more....

What is your favourite main course meal?
Man, that's tough.... Probably my wife's potato soup or chili, both with sourdough garlic bread. It's a toss up between that or really good eel roll at a Japanese steakhouse.

What is your favourite flavour of ice cream?
My current faves are Phish Food and Peanut Butter Cup, both Ben & Jerry's.

What is your favourite crappy TV program?
Hmmm.... I don't know. There have been plenty of shows I thought were awful (Sex and the City, Desperate Housewives, any of the TLC house shows) that I ended up liking after watching them with my wife.

How do you deal with stress?
I indulge in a hobby. It used to be acquiring guitar crap, but in the last month or so, I've been shifting to snakes. Don't get me wrong, I still play music as much as I did, but I'm just less obsessed with getting stuff.

What do you think was my best post ever?
Good question.... let me go look some of your old posts and refresh my memory. It was probably that one time you had a really witty, clever retort for something really stupid somebody else said.

Re: Well Episode XVI: Return of the Jedi + X

Given the chance to slap one forum member with TheOdie taking pictures. Would that forum member be TheOdie himself?
Odie is the obvious choice, but I'd probably go for the unexpected and pick Slade.

If so, would the pharse "Luke, we've got company!" be used?
Only if somebody takes their pants off.

Of all the Star Wars films, which is your favorite and why?
Revenge of the Sith (Ep III). It shows how brilliant Palpatine really was, and made me see Vader in a totally different way. Seriously, Vader coming to be as a result of Anakin fearing his wife was going to die? Awesome. Not to mention, the Obi-Wan vs. Vader fight is fantastic, and I love the part where Vader slaughters the Trade Federation guys. Also, it totally changes the underlying story of the series from "Luke Skywalker saves the galaxy" to "The redemption of Anakin Skywalker."

What is RatherDashing's second best post ever?
The time he got really excited and said "ZOMFG!!!"

Speaking of shooting things, didja take care of those problem items you had a few months back? :cool2:
Unfortunately, I never got to acquire a firearm. If Robert Newton Peck were to write a book about it, he'd call it "A Day No Squirrels Would Die".

...anyway I guess I should probably actually ask a question...

See above post about the photo session w/ Odie.

Do you set goals of where you want to be in 1, 5, 10 years etc.?

I actually did start doing that recently. The only one that I've really set is in 5 years, I want to be done with school and be into my actual career.

Re: Well Episode XVI: Return of the Jedi + X

Truely sorry to hear that bro. Hope things work out better for you in that area in the future. There's always the wrist rocket or the pellet gun mang. I've done in many a sqirrel with a pellet gun.

Re: Well Episode XVI: Return of the Jedi + X

What is your favorite Star Wars movie?
If you could have a lightsaber, what color would it be?
If you had to choose a universe, would you choose Star Wars or Dune?

Re: Well Episode XVI: Return of the Jedi + X

I don't know what you did in musical terms prior to being in school at this point, but it leads me to believe that you are, like many of us, someone that approaches music as a hobby, versus a living. How do you see music unfolding in your future, in terms of being a musician.

I ask this because so many people get out of playing after their 20s or 30s. However, just because one isn't 'rocking out' in a band at a pub each week doesn't mean one can't pursue playing as a life long passion.

Re: Well Episode XVI: Return of the Jedi + X

Why are you ignoring us wonderful people?

Favorite Star Wars line from any of the six movies?

What are you going to school for?

What's the most embarassing thing to you that one of your kids has said in public?

Re: Well Episode XVI: Return of the Jedi + X

You get one weapon that comes from a video game, and it works in real life. What do you pick?

Re: Well Episode XVI: Return of the Jedi + X

:scratchch Still thinking?
Yeah, I'll answer it last before I close and pass the Well on.

Peanut butter, or jelly?
Both, preferably, but if I can only have either/or, peanut butter.

What is your favorite Star Wars movie?
If you could have a lightsaber, what color would it be?
If you had to choose a universe, would you choose Star Wars or Dune?
I think we already did those SW questions, but my fav movie is Epi III, lightsaber would be dark blue, and as far as the universe, SW. I've seen Dune, and enjoyed it, but that's the extent of my Dune knowledge.

You're correct in it being a hobby. I've often been envious of people who make their living through music (or whatever their particular passion may be), but that never seemed like a very realistic goal for me. One of the reasons I love playing music so much is that if I don't feel like doing it, I can go a week or two or whatever without touching an instrument, and it doesn't matter. I bet that if it was my job, I wouldn't like it so much.

I had that problem with a couple bands I was in right after high school. We'd be playing, and I just really wouldn't feel like being there, so I'd end up just turning on all my pedals and bashing on the guitar. It was actually kind of conducive to the kind of music I played at the time :) I'd never do that at a serious gig or anything, just when we'd be drinking/smoking with a bunch of friends.

That being said, once I finish school, I'd love to get into a very laid back band/regular jam session/something. The problem is, the older guys around here tend to be kind of conservative in their tastes, and the younger guys all still have the "I'm gonna be a rockstar" delusions. However, now that I live in a little hippie college town, I'm betting I can find something cool.

Re: Well Episode XVI: Return of the Jedi + X

Why are you ignoring us wonderful people?
Coz you suck.

Favorite Star Wars line from any of the six movies?

Rebel soldier: Sir, your tauntaun will freeze before you reach the first marker...
Han: Then I'll see you in Hell! (Empire Strikes Back)

Obi-Wan [to Anakin]: Why do I get the feeling that you're going to be the death of me? (Attack of the Clones)

Obi-Wan [to Vader]: Only a Sith deals in absolutes! (Revenge of the Sith)

Han: Yes, your worshipfulness (or any other thing like that he says to Leia)

What are you going to school for?
electronic engineering.

What's the most embarassing thing to you that one of your kids has said in public?
A few weeks ago, we were in Wal Mart, and our 2 yr old crapped his pants. He had been doing very well with toilet training, but kinda slipped. He didn't really say anything, but you could see the "Good grief, what is that smell?!" look on EVERY face as we were leaving. You obviously don't make a big deal to him about it, but it was pretty hysterical.

You get one weapon that comes from a video game, and it works in real life. What do you pick?
Aside from a lightsaber (obviously), the Nailgun from Quake. I spent a great many hours my junior year of high school turning on the invincibility mode and blasting people w/ nails.

Show me your snake mane! :D

I haven't taken any more yet, coz I only have him out maybe 10 minutes at a time, and he's still a little jumpy. I've only had him two weeks as of tomorrow, but tonight is feeding night, so any rodent friendly folks out there should say a little prayer for the rats of southwest Ohio :)

I actually have a smaller BP, too. It belongs to my infamous brother-in-law. I was watching it for him while they lived somewhere they couldn't keep it, and he's supposed to have picked it up for the last several weeks, but hasn't made it over. It kind of pisses me off, because he had a 2' BP in a 75 gallon aquarium. 1 heat lamp, no under-tank-heaters, no humidity source, two different sized hides, and some substrate that was entirely inadequate. Before I got rid of the stuff, he struck a mouse that was on the water dish, got it wet, and the junk ended up sticking all over the mouse, thusly stuck in the snake's mouth after it swallowed it. I had to wipe the stuff off it's mouth, and hope like crazy that it didn't get irritated enough to regurge.

So, you can probably understand my reluctance to give it back to him.

Re: Well Episode XVI: Return of the Jedi + X

Great snake pic.

Let me start by saying you're one of my favorite posters on this forum. You're a member of an elite class, officiated by me, in the realm of my mind, so be on you're best behavior or you're out on your ass.

What is the best thing about being married?

What forum member do you most admire for their guitar playing?

What forum member do you covet most for their gear?

To steal from RD, what do you think was the best post I've ever made? :)

What do you think was the best post YOU'VE ever made?

If you found out you had only a short time to live and had already decided to split your gear up among forum members, who would get what?

Re: Well Episode XVI: Return of the Jedi + X

Great snake pic.
Thanks.... I just got done feeding him, and got a so-so pic of him with a mouse butt hanging out of his mouth.... wanna see?

:laugh2:

I mean, understood :)

What is the best thing about being married?
Knowing that no matter how bad you screw up (within reason), you'll be forgiven. To be honest, it took me awhile to understand the difference between being married and just living together. Once you realize that you can't just walk away from each other, everything changes, some for the better, some worse.

All in all, I think there are far more pros than cons, but I wouldn't recommend it to everybody.

Oh, being married (and especially having kids) is nice at tax time, too :D

What forum member do you most admire for their guitar playing?
The two that come to mind are Seafoamer (more for his songs than playing, per se), man I miss that guy, and Mincer. I probably come off sounding like I'm kissing up to him a lot, but his Collectives project is one of the most inspiring things I've heard in forever.

I should also admit that because the audio on my computer is kaput, I'm very unfamiliar with the playing of most folks on here. After I get my new comp (woo-hoo tax returns!), I intend to spend a bunch of time in Tips & Clips.

What forum member do you covet most for their gear?
My tastes are fairly eclectic, so I'd have to cherry pick from a few people:

Sludgenutz for his Sunn model T
Butch for that sweet EBMM
3's Company for his two PRS guitars
anybody who has a Warwick Thumb NT bass :)

To steal from RD, what do you think was the best post I've ever made? :)
I'm gonna go with something involved with the whole ND thing. As far as forum drama goes, that was fairly intense, and I still remember thinking how cool it was that certain people were willing to stick their necks out for their principles.

What do you think was the best post YOU'VE ever made?
I don't really think I've made my best post yet. With each post, I try to expand and improve a bit on each of my previous posts. I try to make each one a bit more dynamic than the last, and expand a bit more in each direction I had previously explored. I try to make them each something that my closest forum friends would appreciate, yet appeal to the forum as a whole at the same time.

If you found out you had only a short time to live and had already decided to split your gear up among forum members, who would get what?
If possible, I'd hand deliver them, so I could have a beer or whatever with everybody, but I'd go find my old Mustang and give it to Slade. Artie would get my Peavey Strat, Cream would get the ES175, Chops gets my bass, 9Finger gets my Kramer, WhoFan can have my collection of random necks and bodies, I'm not sure about the Pacifica. Oh, since you asked, you can have the '62 SG/LP.

Re: Well Episode XVI: Return of the Jedi + X

My two standard questions:

Can you name one single artist or band that should be obligatory listening for us kids?

Can you elaborate on an experience in your life that you think others can learn from as well?
