Re: What category does your gear fit under? How do you keep it?
Well, I'm like this.
The body, I don't care as long as it's in one piece. Obviously I don't intentionally damage it, but I hardly wear white gloves
My first Gordon Smith has plenty of dints here and there, and I don't mind. The guitar works, and I'm not going to be selling it anyway.
Strings, I don't sweat much so they stay clean... I'm a bit wary of which friends play which guitars; I won't let certain friends play guitars with newer strings on because I know they'll kill them because of their hand sweat.
Headstock: again, I'm not too bothered about dints here and there.
Neck : very bothered. Since this is where my hands are going, I like it to be nice and clean. I make sure this gets no dents whatsoever. All of my necks are in pristine condition, and the fretboards are nice and clean as well.
I'm always very careful when playing someone elses guitar, just out of respect/not wanting to get beat up for breaking something.
However, with my own, sooner or later all that will be left will be the necks :laugh2:
So "road warrior" for me
