Re: What strings do you use?

Just made the transition from .10 to .11 because the band decided to tune a half step down. Currently using D' addario as they are a bit cheaper than Ernie Ball (which I always used before).

Re: What strings do you use?

I've been a regular user of the EB Regular Slinky for years (10-46). I've recently switched to the Hybrid Slinky (9-46) and like those better. I've tried most of the other brands, but EB has always treated me right.

For what it's worth...I've heard several here say that the Everly Rockers are fantastic strings...I've just not purchased a set yet.

Re: What strings do you use?

Ernie ball Skinny tops and heavy bottoms (.10-.52) Amazing string im my opinion. NIce heavy bottoms for chunky power chords and light top end for solos. I used to use ernie ball regualrs before (.10-.46) IM curious about trying the hybrids as im starting to get into mroe soloing now. I dont plan on getting any heavier gauges anytime soon thougj, those new ernieball sets...beefy and not even slinky look crazy i have no idea how people plan on playing with those unless they detune their guitars to like c# or C or something , whihc is too low for me, the lowest i go is Drop D or everything half a step down......but my string handle them well.

Re: What strings do you use?

I use the regular EB slinky's. When I buy them, I buy in bulk. They give me 12 packs for 2.89 each...which is a pretty good deal I think.

Re: What strings do you use?

d'addario xl120's on all my electrics, Acoustic i use elixir extra lights either nanoweb or polyweb

Re: What strings do you use?

D'addario 10-46's with a wound third. Thinking i might go a little lower with me low E though we'll see if any strings and sizes call out to me here.

I've tried a set of Everly's, and I liked them. They're my second choice after my favorite DR's.

Re: What strings do you use?

D'Addario 10's (Yamaha) and 12's (Jackson ... still on the bench)
GHS for 11's (Dean 7 string)

Re: What strings do you use?

I am loving my 1st ever pair of DR pure blues .010's

i am gonna order some more after i use the other strings i have (2 packs dean markely blue steal) so my new electric strings after i finish the markeleys will be dr. pure blues .010 (size may vary) second is close between boomers and marekely blue steel, both .010 (occasionally i throw on .011 or .009).

for acoustic, martin msp4100 in .012 (occasionally .013 or .011). I like havingt .012 on acoustic and .010 on electric because playing electric lets you bend, hammer, and just rock with much ease. Eventually i wanna bump up to .012-.014 on both electric and acoustic, but i need to develop my finger muscles

Re: What strings do you use?

acoutic 12 - Martin XLT's
acoustic 6 - GHS XLT's
electric - Ernie Ball Slinkys (9's)
Bass - Ernie Ball Hybrid Slinkys (.45's)

Re: What strings do you use?

I'm using Fender 0.10 Stainless for Heritage H-147,0.9 Nickels for RG570 and Martin 0.12 Phosphor Bronze for Fender Montara Acoustic...right now I'm experiencing and next I would get Fender 0.11 purenickels for Heritage H-147,0.10 stainless for RG570 and Martin 0.11 bronze for Fender Montara...I was using 0.10 fender bronze for acoustic but I'm not satisfied with 0.12 phosphor bronze it gives very bright sound and 0.12s are very hard to play&bend...I'd try 0.11s and compare with 0.10s and switch between them...I'm also curious about 0.11 pure nickels with Heritage they could be great...has anyone experienced with 0.11 pure nickels in their LP???also how does stainlesses sound in a RG570 too bright???
