Re: what's your best amp for your bedroom ?
Stopped by my favorite pawn shop a while back and spotted a mint Roland Street Cube. I was familiar with their regular Cube amps having bought and sold a Cube 15, a Cube 30 (which I should have kept!) and a few micro cubes. Went home, looked up the specs on the street cube, saw the retail price, street price and what they go for used. Got in my car, went back and bought it.
Killer home amp. Just enough amp sims and effects for me, plus it takes pedals well. Great blackface tones, JC tones, acoustic sim with Vox, Marshall and Boogie tones thrown in for good measure! I use the blackface setting 90% of the time and add a bit of reverb.
In addition, it has a second channel with a combo xlr/1/4" jack so you can either plug in a quality mic or use it for acoustic guitar, etc. In addition to running 16 hours on 6 AA batteries, you can use headphones, plug your MP3, phone, CD or Cassette player into it and play along. It's stereo, with two 6.5" speakers and a whopping 5 watts. For it's small size and weight, it kicks out impressive volume and excellent tones. I've even used it for a few small gigs run stereo with my other battery amp, (also a great bedroom amp) a Crate Taxi 30.
