I don't know if it's my all-time favorite but I certainly think the backwards solo in Hendrix's Are You Experienced is noteworthy. There's an incredible variety of emotions he goes through in that one. And I love the dramatic pauses scattered throughout. And knowing it was all done backwards just makes it that much better.

It just hit me, but just about anything Warren Haynes does is tonally perfect and well executed. And pretty much any solo I do!!......Just joking 95% of the guys on this forum would smoke me in a solo contest!!

Alex Scholnick's [Testament] Practice What You Preach solo - it goes on forever, and always blows me away. I also love Dave and Marty's [Megadeth] trade offs on Hanger 18. There's a SRV song that blows me away as well off Texas Flood - it's one of the instrumentals, but I don't know the name.

McGuinn on the Byrd's "Turn, Turn, Turn" or "Bells of Rhymney" love the banjo style finger rolls and Clapton on "While My Guitar Gently Weeps" by the greatest band ever-the Beatles.

I love RR "Tonight" also, the fade out is also great. Goodbye to Romance is also a brilliant solo.

My #1 would be "Shapes of Things" by Gary Moore. Solo of the year in '85 or '86 and that when EVERYONE wailed. Truly a great solo...
