Yup. I have a 10k A3 High Order. I think Duncan 59' when I think PAF cause I played one for years. The HO has a touch more compression and is much more aggressive. GREAT pup. Tone retains air but doesn't have that clear chimey PAF twang of the 59'. The 10K and my hybrid are my favorite buckers.
Tough call but for my money I'd stick to a 8.75-9k scatterwound, slightly mismatched, double screw A3 59' for an overwound paf if you want clarity and twang with a bit more drive.
The A3 will add more mids than the A5, but won't lose as much bass as the A2. Radiussing the screws and using an A3 will add fullness and aggressiveness, helping to keep the winds down.
After that you should just go hybrid.
