It's raining NGD's...but these are special..

that doesnt sound all that tele like to me :D sounds fine and the guy can play for sure, but blindfolded i wouldnt guess tele

Really? I thought it had it nailed, even more so w/ the bridge pup. I guess there might be some Strat in there too...anyway, I'm no afficionado...in fact I absolutely fuggin hate Tele's (aesthetics & ergonomics, not tone) as I mentioned up there...so feel free to take my opinion with a pinch of salt :D

But if I were to get one...that's ^^ what I have my eye on. Going by what I hear it get's 'close enough' for me tone-wise..

....seems to have more bite than the Koa superstrat I have which has rounder/mellower highs, probably 'cause of the Pegasus

Actually while I probably do need a Tele sometime in the future :p.....I'd have preferred the finish that dude is playing up there to the Koa....just for variety. But they are'nt making those anymore.

Probabaly more than a lot of people. I think tone-wood makes a pretty big difference & the Tele is Ash like my Superstrat. I'm concerned they may not just look but also sound too samey..

Now for something FGN that's actually pretty different. :lmao:

Basswood S-S-S 'back to basics' kinda Strat that sounds pretty incredible..

Not generally a big fan of single-coils in the bridge but eh...listen to this :bigthumb:

Suh-weeet!! :bigthumb:

Trying the new Cort X500 Menace w/ my Hotone Pulze modeler//practice amp/recording amp..

I will say ...it's a fantastic playing guitar & it sounds sweet af too :bigthumb:

Plus obviously modelers just make the whole recording process far simpler and quicker/easier. just pick a patch and play & you have a fantastic pro-quality recording w/ a bunch of effects & everything...can't beat that.. :bigthumb:

And the Cort/Hotone modeler again w/ the SD Sentient neck pup..

Frankly the Cort is an absolutely awesome guitar to play. Really feels 'alive' & resonates in one's hands, like a living thing ...always the mark of a great guitar.

And the tones are all ever so sweet :bigthumb:

Cuz my son's bought them for me... :bigthumb:

Both my boys are into metal. (elder one's hair is halfway down his back) ...not crazy into it like me but more casually.

He likes modern metal, "progressive" stuff & djent... and the two of us argue about our completely different tastes all the time :lmao:

...while my younger is more into trad metal like me & is especially crazy about King Diamond :bigthumb:

The elder guy (now 20) who's away at university in the UK is home for the holidays so I was showing them both the last couple guitars I bought (FGN & Charvel). They asked where I got them from & yesterday I was presented w/ this one by my younger son...(probably actually bought by my older one though :p..cuz he has a couple of part-time jobs in the UK while my younger pretty much just plays video games in his free time :p)

It's an alder HSS Strat w/ a rosewood fretboard & FGN's own proprietary pup's. I actually mentioned it to my boys when I showed them my Koa FGN saying I'd seen another I like but honestly did'nt for the life of me expect them to get it for me..cuz they've never done anything remotely like this in the past. (Lol, I must be doing somethng right ;p) ..so yeah I was genuinely surprised & also pretty deeply touched to say the least.

It's another awesome guitar! Looks fantastic & plays/sounds as good as it looks :bigthumb:

Here it is plugged into my JVM410 (neck single coil)

And on top of that my elder dude says he too got me one online "that I'd like" & it's on the way (upcoming NGD!)...so I probably have a hideous djent guitar to look forward to in the near future (just j/k......it's the thought that counts)... :laugh2:

What can I say...I have awesome kids :bigthumb:

I love the looks of that. I'm currently building my next guitar (for me, not for sale) out of a super gorgeous piece of black limba. I'll post picks when it's done...in about 4 months.

Yeah, it's great but since I already have the Strat version , it's dampened my enthusiasm a bit.

On the other hand the 3 tone sunburst SSS Strat has been giving me sleepless nights :lmao:

Far from extraordinary to look at, but man...what tone!

Speaking of tone..here's my Black Limba Strat in Ballad mode w/ the bridge pup split (and a little bit of the neck pup at the start)....

In theory it should be the thinnest/most anemic tone...but instead it's as fat and juicy as any other tone this axe throws out there :bigthumb:

Really sweet pups... I noticed a lot of the higher priced "Expert" series FGN guitars have them installed rather than Duncans etc & I can see why.

And w/ The SD Nazgul bridge pup in my Cort Menace...

Most times I use my neck pup's for the deeply emotional ballad-type stuff but these bridge pups (Nazgul & FGN bridge) both sound great for that sort of thing as well...it's all about channelling those deep emotions wihin you and forgetting about your prized collection of dorky theory books.. :bigthumb:

That IS gorgeous tone from the split bridge on your black limba strat. (I still don't like your playing technique, lol, but the guitar and the tone are both beautiful)!

Thanks. It does sound pretty sweet. As for my technique...eh, it is what it is :D. I would''nt change a thing about it personally (as everyone here knows :lmao:)

Just for comparison ...here's the same tune w/ my Koa Top (Ash) FGN Start w/ the SD Pegasus in the bridge split..All the other settings are pretty much the same..
